On Wednesday October 19th, Jancis Robinson will be leading a tasting in New York to benefit Room to Read, an organization that promotes literacy in the developing world as well as gender equality in education. John Wood, Room to Read’s founder and executive chairman, will also be on hand, as will Nicholas Lander, Jancis’s husband and the restaurant critic of the Financial Times. The event is being held from 6:30pm-9:00pm at New York Vintners, which is located at 21 Warren Street in lower Manhattan. Jancis has selected eight excellent wines from around the world, and hors d’oeuvres will also be served. This is a great cause, and well worth your time and contribution. For more information, you can check out the Room to Read website, and I hope to see you there on Wednesday night.
